Living The Dream with RJ
Each year, Deepwood Foundation helps an individual with developmental disabilities in Lake County experience something they’ve always dreamed of doing.
For RJ, that dream was to become a pilot.
With the incredible support of Pam & Bill Martin, Vector Aviation, and Lost Nation Airport, we were able to make RJ’s dream a reality as he became a pilot for a day!
The celebration continued with a special party and video premiere at Lost Nation Sports Park, where RJ’s unforgettable experience was shared with family, friends, and supporters.

Living The Dream With Lacey
Each year, Deepwood Foundation helps an individual with developmental disabilities in Lake County experience something they’ve always dreamed of doing.
For Lacey, that dream was to be a baseball player for the Lake County Captain.
Lacey has loved baseball for as long as she can remember, and with the help of Deepwood Foundation and the Lake County Captains, we were able to make that dream come true with “Living the Dream with Lacey.”
Lacey received her very own custom Captains jersey with her name on the back, threw out the first pitch, and greeted the players as they took the field.
The celebration continued in the Pirate Suite, where Lacey and her guests enjoyed hot dogs, pizza, popcorn, and an unforgettable evening at the ballpark.

All-Inclusive Accessible Playground
Dreams Do Come True! The Deepwood Foundation, in partnership with the Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities/Deepwood, celebrated the opening of the Clark Family Activity and Learning Center on September 28, 2021. The All-Inclusive Accessible Playground and Learning Center is located at Broadmoor School. The new inclusive playground accommodates all students so that All Kids Can Play.
The project has been so well received that it continued to grow. Construction of Phase 3 began in spring 2023. Planned to be a recreational concourse, it contains an expansive shelter and supports. Activities such as an adapted basketball court, pickle ball courts, and swings to accommodate older students and adults are included.
